Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at Peace UMC (303 S 9th Ave., Virginia, MN 55792). A gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.

Appointment information: Rev. Wellman was ordained as a deacon in 1964 and as an elder in 1968. He served Minnesota churches in Lake Benton, Ivanhoe, Hendricks, Vernon Center, Amboy, Morgan, New Avon, St. Paul (Peace UMC), Shoreview, Minneapolis (Edgewater UMC), Osseo, Fairmont, and Virginia (Peace UMC).  He also served a church in Illinois. He retired in 2001.

Mrs. Wellman is survived by her husband, Rev. Ken Wellman; her daughter, Mary Wellman; and extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael and Todd; and siblings, Harvey and Patricia.
