Arrangements: There will not be a public memorial service. The family requests no memorial gifts or donations.

Appointment information: Rev. Smith was ordained as an elder in 1948. He served Minnesota churches in New Ulm, Kiester, Brainerd, St. Paul (First UMC), Hutchinson (Bethlehem UMC), Fairmont, and Minneapolis (Grace UMC on Lowry Ave.). He also served churches in Alaska and Oregon. He retired in 1988.

Rev. Smith is survived by his wife, Donna M. Smith; his children, Susan, David, Dale, and Kathy; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
