Appointment information: Rev. Horst was ordained as a deacon in 1979 and as an elder in 1987. He served Minnesota churches in Excelsior, St. Paul (Fairmount Avenue UMC), Minneapolis (Park Avenue UMC), and Stillwater. He retired in 2010.

Rev. Horst is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Horst; children, Jesse (Emily) and Anna (Eberardo López), and two grandchildren.
