Date of death: June 28, 2022 at age 80

Arrangements: A service of remembrance will be held Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at Christ UMC (2330 W 41 St., Davenport, IA 52806). A visitation will take place at 10 a.m. at the church, and a lunch will be held after the service.

Appointment information: Rev. George was ordained as a deacon in 1972 and as an elder in 1975. He served a church in Northern Illinois before serving Minnesota churches in Milaca, Onamia, Thief River Falls, Duluth (Woodland UMC), and Sauk Centre. He went on to serve a church in Iowa. He retired in 2004.

Rev. George is survived by his wife, Carol Ann (Bell) George; his sons, Chris (Carolyn) and Matt (Jennifer); and five grandchildren.
