Arrangements: A memorial service will be held April 1 at 2 p.m. at Douglas UMC (6507 75th St NW, Douglas).

Appointment information: Rev. Stephan was ordained in the Moravian Church in 1956 and served Moravian churches in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota. He was then licensed as a United Methodist local pastor in 1963 and ordained in 1969. He served Minnesota United Methodist churches in Elgin, Douglas, and Mazeppa. He also served as a high school counselor. He retired in 1996.

Rev. Stephan was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Lou, Gerald, and Melvin. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; four children, Gay Deane, James, John, and Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
