Appointment information: Rev. Brewer was ordained as a deacon in 1983 and as an elder in 1985. He served as the president of the Gbarnga School of Theology in Liberia before serving Minnesota churches in Minneapolis (Hennepin Avenue and Oakland Avenue UMCs), Richfield (Church of Peace), Lakefield, and Heron Lake. He retired in 2012.
Rev. Brewer is survived by his wife, Ida Parker Brewer; his mother, Sarah Brewer-Harmon; his children, Daniel Jr. Brewer, Gloria (Joseph) Brewer-Hagan, Yeamah Brewer, Robert Brewer, and Lauretta (Togba) Kun; his siblings, Annie Zean Brewer, Sophia Brewer Sheriff, Evans Banie Brewer, Stephen Brewer Dweh-Chenneh, Henry Sebeh Brewer, and Edward Kla Brewer; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Thomas Henry Brewer Sr., and five brothers, Thomas, Dashward, Jessie, Tailmon, and Landis.
