Arrangements: A viewing will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at  Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home (5000 W 50th St., Edina, MN 55436). A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at Good Samaritan UMC (5730 Grove St., Edina, MN 55436). A visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. A lunch will follow the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Sheffield was ordained as a deacon in 1953 and as an elder in 1955. He served Minnesota churches in St. Paul, Hutchinson, Golden Valley, and Mahtomedi. He retired in 1992.

Rev. Sheffield is survived by his children, Deb (Arch Duncan) Sheffield-Duncan, Laurie (Gary) Sheffield-James, and Cindy Sheffield, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Sheffield.

Memorials are preferred to Good Samaritan UMC, 5730 Grove St., Edina, MN 55436.
