Appointment information: Rev. Sather was ordained as an elder in 1952. He served as a U.S. Army chaplain from 1953-1983. He also served a United Methodist church in Alaska for one year. He retired in 1987.

Rev. Sather is survived by his wife, Kay Sather; children, Larry Sather and Dale Sather (Crispin Spaeth); seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wives Lily and Allene, and daughter Kristi Sather Walsh.
