Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901). A visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Cox-Townsend was ordained as a deacon in 1978 and as an elder in 1981. He served Minnesota churches in Wells, St. Clair, Beauford, Plainview, Kellogg, Weaver, and Chatfield. He retired in 2005.

Rev. Cox-Townsend is survived by his children, Blair and Beth.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or local food shelves.
