Arrangements: A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. May 12 at Hope UMC (12080 380th Ave., Blue Earth). A visitation will take place May 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home (400 E. 14th St., Blue Earth) and one hour prior to the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Brown was ordained as a deacon in 1973 and as an elder in 1975. He served Minnesota churches in Blue Earth, Delvan, West Concord, Kenyon, Ellendale, Geneva, Palisade, Hill City, Fleming, McGregor, Cromwell, and Jackson. He retired in 2013.

Rev. Brown is survived by his wife, Shelly Brown; his sister, Pam Parker; and other members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, David John Brown II and Elaine Jean Peterson.
