Appointment information: Rev. Almquist was ordained as a deacon in 1975 and as an elder in 1977. He served Minnesota churches in St. Francis, Ham Lake, Wyoming, Barnum, Moose Lake, Jackson, Lake City, Zumbro Falls, and Staples. He retired in 2001.

Rev. Almquist is survived by his children, DanniLe (Mort) Stephens and Scott (Michelle) Almquist; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine D. Almquist in 2017.
