Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. March 23 at Peace United Church of Christ (1503 2nd Ave. NE, Rochester, MN). A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, with a luncheon to follow the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Hoag was ordained as a deacon in 1957 and as an elder in 1959. He served Minnesota churches in Akeley, Hubbard, Fosston, Erskine, Pine Bend, Cass Lake, Guthrie, Park Rapids, Mabel, and Newburg. He retired in 1977.

Rev. Hoag is survived by his wife, Sonja Hoag; his daughters, Lavonne (John) Zafft, Dianne (Al) Barker, Sharon Hoag Jaslow, and Rhonda (Jeff) McCabe; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two infant sisters; half-sister, Kathleen Peterson; brother Wayne Hoag and wife Jeannine; and sister Barbara Willford and husband Rev. Earl Willford, who was also UMC clergy.
