Appointment information: Rev. Merlin-Molstad was ordained as a deacon in 1983 and as an elder in 1988. She served Minnesota churches in Hewitt, Bertha, Wrightstown, and Winona. She also served as a chaplain at Walker Methodist Health Center in Minneapolis, Friendship Village in Bloomington, and Franciscan Skemp Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She retired in 2014.

Rev. Merlin-Molstad is survived by her sister, Ellen Merlin (Jim Leuthner); sisters-in-law Lisa Falenschek (Jim) and Mary E. Merlin; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Merlin-Molstad; parents, William and Mary T. Merlin; and siblings William L., Carol, and Daryl.
