Arrangements: A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, at Faith United Methodist Church in St. Anthony (2708 33rd Ave NE, St. Anthony, MN 55418), followed by a luncheon. Visitation will take place at the church that same day, from 10 to 11 a.m., just prior to the service. Clergy who attend the funeral are invited to robe and process.

Appointment information: Rev. William E. Cox was ordained as a deacon in 1952 and as an elder in 1953. He served in New York, West Virginia, Ohio, and Missouri before coming to Minnesota in 1970. In Minnesota, he served an urban parish in St. Paul and then provided counseling and training for corporations through extension ministry. He then served congregations in Taylor's Falls, Minnesota and St. Croix Falls and Wolf Creek, Wisconsin, and he later planted a church in New London-Spicer, Minnesota. He retired in 1994, and during retirement, he served as minister of education at Faith United Methodist Church, coached clergy, and led workshops.

Rev. Cox is survived by his wife, Fran; children, Nancy (John) and Jeffrey; stepchildren, Danny (Marj), Michael (Kim), and Stephanie (John); six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
