Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at First United Methodist Church (900 S. Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX, 78401).

Appointment information: Bishop Christopher was bishop of the Minnesota Annual Conference from 1988 to 1996 and bishop of the Illinois Area from 1996 to 2008. She retired in 2008.

Mavis Lorraine Krueger Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lewis Brown Jr. She is survived by her children, Bishop Sharon Brown Christopher (Rev. Charles Logsdon Christopher), Fred Lewis Brown III (Dr. H. Keven McShane), and Jana Brown Villaume (Jim); four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
