Marion B. Standring, widow of the Reverend Arthur Standing, age 93, died Tuesday September 4, 2012 in Monticello, Minnesota.

Visitation will be Saturday September 8, 2012 from 9 - 11 am at Community United Methodist Church (9225 Jason Avenue NE, Monticello). Funeral services will follow the visitation on Saturday at 11 am. Interment will be Monday, September 10, at 1 pm at Fairview Cemetery of Raymond, MN. Funeral arrangements are with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

Marion was born on May 5, 1919 in Renville, MN and was united in marriage to Arthur Standring in Litchfield, MN on May 22, 1937. He was appointed to Buffalo Lake, Minneapolis: Bethlehem, Zimmerman-Becker, Walnut Grove and Wabasso-New Avon Salem churches and retired in 1981. Marion loved to travel and was an avid photographer. She was also gifted with many hobbies including making handmade quilts, furniture caning, hardanger, and embroidery.

Marion is survived by her children: Karen (Mike) Ackerson of Mahtomedi, MN, Gwen (Bob) Graue of Minneapolis, MN, and Connie Kanthak (209 Kevin Longley Drive, Monticello, MN); 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur (1994); and 7 siblings.

Memorials are preferred to the Community United Methodist Church of Monticello.
