Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 2, at Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Ave. SW, Rochester, MN 55902).

Appointment information: Rev. Charles O. Butler was ordained as a deacon in 1951 and as an elder in 1953. He served as a missionary in Panama and was later appointed to churches in Alabama and Iowa before retiring in 1991. He transferred to the Minnesota Conference in 1997.

Rev. Butler is survived by his children, John Butler (Barb Platt), Anne Butler, and Beverly Butler; two granddaughters; and other members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn A. Butler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Ave. SW, Rochester, MN 55902) for mission work in Guatemala and Panama, or to Arbor Terrace Activity Fund (24 8th St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
