Arrangements: A funeral will take place April 15 at 11 a.m. at Willmar UMC (1818 9th St. SW, Willmar). Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Carpenter was ordained as a deacon in 1982 and as an elder in 1986. He served Minnesota churches in Verdi, Ruthton, Chokio, Herman, Pepperton, Norcross, Cosmos, Atwater (Atwater and Rosendale UMCs), and Hawick. He retired in 2015.

Mariah is survived by her son, Jaxon Refsland; parents, Rev. Joseph and Wanda (Kuhlman) Carpenter; grandmother, Lilen Kuhlman; siblings, Robin (Dale) Weerts, Sara Austin (Scott Coleman), Ron Austin, and Anthony (Jennifer) Austin; special friend, Jesus Reyes; three aunts; an uncle; seven cousins; and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Helen Carpenter and Marvin Kuhlman; brothers, Rich and Paul Austin; an uncle; and a cousin.
