Relationship to conference: Wife of retired elder, Rev. Donald L. Walkes, who died in 2017

Date of death: Dec. 24, 2018 at age 94

Arrangements: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 1 at Belgrade Avenue UMC (325 Sherman St., North Mankato).

Appointment information: Rev. Walkes was ordained as an elder in 1950. He served Minnesota churches in Pipestone, Kiester, Robbinsdale, Minneapolis (Olivet UMC), and Le Sueur. He also served as superintendent in the former Southwest District from 1973 to 1979. He retired in 1983.

Mrs. Walkes is survived by her children, Rev. Deb Walkes and Laurie (David) Helgerson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Jim Monk; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Monk.

Memorials are preferred to Koronis Ministries or donor's choice.
