Arrangements: A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 at Spirit of Hope UMC in Golden Valley. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Johnson was ordained  as a deacon in 1955 and as an elder in 1963. He initially served in Nebraska before moving to Minnesota and serving churches in Ada, Beltrami, Verndale, Central, Moran, Lamberton, Sanborn, Germantown, Duluth (Chester Park), Sargeant, and Elgin. He retired in 1991.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her three sons, Jack (Jan) Johnson of Burnsville, Minnesota; Dirke (Lorna) Johnson of Orlando, Florida; and Wesley (Pam) Johnson of Marshall, Minnesota; her sister, Agnes Morris of Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. George D. Johnson; her sister, Doris Bingham; her brother, Stanley Fry; and two nieces. 

Memorials are preferred to Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ), Spirit of Hope UMC, or the charity of your choice.
