Date of death: April 22, 2017, at age 85

Arrangements: A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. April 29 at First UMC of the St. Cloud Region (1107 Pine Cone Road S, Sartell). A family visitation will be held one hour before the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Meier was ordained as a deacon in 1959 and as an elder in 1961. He served Minnesota churches in Lester Prairie, Castle Rock, Northome, Hines, Cass Lake, Guthrie, Ely, Duluth (Bethany UMC and Riverview UMC),  Eveleth, Meadowlands, St. Paul (Epworth UMC), Owatonna, and Minneapolis (Minnehaha). He retired in 1995.

Mrs. Meier is survived by her children, Jacklyn (Steve) Meier-Ratte, Amy (Ron) Jacobson, Heidi (Dennis) Thompson, Rev. William (Linda) Meier, and Steve (Annette) Meier; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
