Date of death: April 13, 2023 at age 93

Arrangements: A service of death and resurrection was held at Hope UMC in Pocahontas, Iowa, on April 18.

Appointment information: Rev. Robert Stemme was ordained as a deacon in 1954 and as an elder in 1956. He served churches in South Dakota and Colorado before serving Minnesota churches in Byron, Marshall, St. Paul (Central Park UMC), and Rochester (Bethany UMC). He retired in 1983.

Rev. Rodney Stemme was ordained as a deacon in 1975 and as an elder in 1980. He served Minnesota churches in Hawley, Minneapolis (Hennepin Avenue UMC), Warren, Perham, Dent, Lamberton, Sanborn, St. James, Blue Earth (First and Salem UMCs), Winnebago, Delavan, Elmore, West St. Paul, Pipestone (Peace UMC), Arlington, and Norwood Young America. He retired in 2018.

Mrs. Stemme was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Ted Omtvedt, Beverly Omtvedt, and Alois Omtvedt Eisenhauer. She is survived by her children, Rodney (Virginia) Stemme, Bruce (Maureen) Stemme, and Susan Stemme; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
