Date of death: April 15, 2017, at age 98

Arrangements: A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. May 8 at Portland Avenue UMC (8000 Portland Ave. S, Bloomington). A visitation will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. May 7 at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel (6527 Portland Ave. S, Richfield) and one hour before the service. A light lunch will be served after the service.

Appointment information: Rev. Griffith was ordained as a deacon in 1946 and as an elder in 1948. He served several churches in South Dakota before serving Minnesota churches in Minneapolis (Portland Avenue UMC), Luverne, and North Mankato. He retired in 1978.

Mrs. Griffith is survived by her children, Raymond (June) Griffith, Kathleen (David) Rotchadl, and Gloria (James) Doherty; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Elizabeth J. Griffith.
