Arrangements: A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at Brooklyn UMC (7200 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center). Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Jan. 18 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home (6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center) and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Appointment information: Rev. Purdham was ordained as a deacon in 1950 and as an elder in 1951. He served one Massachusetts church and Minnesota churches in Minneapolis (Oxboro UMC, North UMC) Nashwauk, Kelly Lake, Pengilly, Proctor, Brookston, and Bloomington (Hillcrest UMC). He also served as conference program director (1970-1976) and superintendent of the former Metro-East District (1976-1981.) He retired in 1986.
Mrs. Purdham is survived by her children, Lois Purdham and David (Mary) Purdham, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Rev. James Purdham (who was also a member of the Minnesota Conference); parents, Dr. Harold and Marion Boquist; and three brothers.
Memorials are preferred to the Brooklyn UMC Foundation or the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
