Video: Bishop Ough on reassignment to Dakotas-Minnesota Area

July 19, 2016

On Saturday, the last day of the North Central Jurisdictional Conference in Peoria, Illinois, Bishop Bruce. R. Ough was officially reassigned to the Dakotas-Minnesota Area for a second four-year term, and will remain there through 2020. Bishops receive assignments every four years at jurisdictional gatherings. Although it would have been highly unlikely for Ough to be assigned to another area, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.

The North Central Jurisdiction’s Episcopacy Committee is responsible for assigning bishops—a process that begins immediately after all bishops are elected. The committee includes two people from each annual conference, and members concluded their work at about 8 p.m. Friday. The assignments were announced at a consecration worship service Saturday morning.

In a brief video message below, Bishop Ough expressed joy after learning about his reassignment and talked about what's ahead for the next four years. View a complete list of North Central Jurisdiction bishop assignments here.
