Mission Promotion Team

The Mission Promotion Team of the Minnesota Annual Conference works to increase awareness of mission activity across the conference and to encourage participation in mission work, locally, nationally, and internationally. The team is a resource for local churches looking to expand their mission outreach.

Team members include the director of missional impact, the secretary of global missions, the Volunteers in Mission (VIM) coordinator, the UMW national director, the Vietnam partnership liaison, and representatives from each district. The team meets four to five times a year.

One of the key projects of the team is to provide support by championing missionaries serving around the world. When those missionaries are in Minnesota, the group connects them with local churches. The team also provides support for Volunteers in Mission training. Members provide information and articles about mission, mission events, and activities around the conference. They also research and select the Love Offering recipients. The Love Offering has supported more than 50 different projects since 1984. Team members are available to come and speak with local mission committees and small groups, or during worship services.
