Church: Glendale UMC

Over the past year Glendale United Methodist Church in Savage has handed out boxes of food to more than 1,325 guests.

Glendale is one of many churches in Minnesota that serves as a Ruby’s Pantry distribution site. The church is celebrating its first year by thanking the 780 volunteers who provided more than 2,025 hours of their time to the pantry.

Ruby’s Pantry serves rural areas in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Guests bring $20 and two large boxes or laundry baskets that are filled with food. The pantry is open to anyone—there are no income requirements.

Ruby’s Pantry works by taking surplus food from corporate distributors and giving it away to anyone who is hungry.

Glendale UMC distributes food on the third Monday of the month.
