On Sunday, Dec. 16, some 43 youth and adult members came together to help make 28 fleece tie blankets for the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims. Each blanket is tied with ribbon and a laminate tag that reads, “This prayer blanket has been made especially for you, to serve as a reminder of God’s love for you today and always. -Brooklyn United Methodist Youth, Brooklyn Center, MN.” Each blanket was prayed over and blessed. The blankets were sent to the Sandy Hook Fire Department who will be delivering each of the blankets to the families.

May each blanket bring warmth, comfort, and peace this Christmas to the families. The volunteer at the city’s fire department cried hearing of our gift that will be arriving. "You have no idea what this will mean, what we have all been through...thank you."
