Youth in Grades 6-12, join us at the St. Cloud Holiday Inn November 1-3 for THE EVENT. We’ve made some changes this year, and are looking forward to an awesome weekend together!

What can you expect at The Event 2019? Something New!

Tony Ducklow will be speaking at our large group sessions, and worship will be led by Overflow Worship, and of course we’ll play lots of games! Friday night will feature a hip hop concert with Kaboose. Enjoy Holiday Inn’s swimming pools (7! 7 swimming pools!) and gym. We’re offering breakout sessions for middle school youth and high school youth. Connect with your group through guided church group time following large group sessions. And the newest something new… Church Night Out! Church groups will have the option to choose one of several evening activities (including an escape room, bowling, roller skating, laser tag, and more!) to participate in as a church group–alongside other church groups attending The Event. 

When we choose to follow Jesus, things change. We have a new perspective. We see new opportunities to care for others. We see ourselves differently. We have a new mission in the world. We become a new creation.

Cost for The Event is $75 per person.

Lodging reservations must be made separately. Rooms are $100 each and groups are responsible for following safe sanctuaries guidelines. Call the St. Cloud Holiday Inn (320-656-3493) and reference "The Event - UMC" for our block and pricing. Standard rooms are for up to 4 people, and suites are up to 6 people (2 beds + pull out couch).

Friday, November 1
  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. - Check in, get settled (eat on the way)
  • 8:00 - Opening large group session
  • 9:15 -  Hip Hop Concert with Kaboose
  • 10:15 - Lights out
Saturday, November 2
  • 8:00 a.m. - Breakfast in atrium
  • 9:00 - Large group session
  • 10:00 - Workshops
  • 11:00 - Workshops
  • Noon - Lunch in atrium
  • 1:00 p.m. - Free time
  • 2:00 - Workshops
  • 3:00 - Large group session
  • 5:00 - Church night out - church groups select from options and enjoy an evening socializing with other groups.  See list below. 
  • 10:30 - Lights out
Sunday, November 3
  • 8:00  a.m. - Breakfast in atrium 
  • 9:00 - Large group worship and closing
  • 10:00 - The Event ends
Church Night Out Options - You will select activities during registration. It is possible for churches to split between options but an adult must accompany each youth.  Where necessary, times will be assigned to groups. 
  • Cosmic Bowling at Southway Bowl - 7-8:30 or 8:30-10, 6 lanes available (5 people/lane), $6 per person includes 2 games
  • Escape Room at Lock and Key Escape Rooms- 6 sessions with 8 people session available, $18 per person, times will be assigned
  • Laser Tag at Black Light Adventures - 5 sessions (20 people each) starting on the hour, $10 per person for 1 hour of play
  • Roller Skating at Skatin' Place - open skate from 5-9 pm, $6 per person includes skates
  • Shopping at Crossroad Center - head to the mall. only cost is what you spend
  • Hang out at the hotel

Cost: $75 per person, plus Saturday night option. Housing arrangements must be made separately.
