Native American Pilgrimage
More than just a field trip, we are inviting you on a pilgrimage, a journey of both information and transformation. Unlike tourists, we approach this journey in a posture of prayer, seeking to be transformed as we connect to place, to the Creator, and to one another.
We will gather at 10 am at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum (43411 Oodena Dr, Onamia, MN 56359). After a guided tour and time for individual exploration, we will go to the 1991 Kitchen at Grand Casino Mille Lacs for lunch in a private dining room. From there we head to a cemetery for learning about residential schools and drumming. (We will be outside for 45-60 minutes. Dress appropriately and bring a lawn chair). The day will wrap up around 3 p.m.
The cost is $30 and includes admission to the museum, lunch, and program leaders. Scholarships are available.
All are invited. Registration is limited to 25 people. People who sign up after the 25 person limit will be added to a waitlist.
A list of those interested in ride sharing will be created.
