Prospect Park United Methodist Church is celebrating the 10th year of its popular Community Concert Series, and our October performance features classic folk tunes from PPUMC’s long-time favorites, First Saturday Folk. Enjoy the music of John Denver, Pete Seeger, Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon & Garfunkel and many more, with plenty of sing-a-long opportunities for all.
The concert takes place Saturday, October 12, 7 p.m., in the historic PPUMC sanctuary. It’s sure to be an evening of down-home family fun! There is no admission fee, with the evening’s freewill offering supporting Southeast Seniors, helping senior citizens live fully in the comfort of their own homes. Whether it’s a simple task or getting expert advice, growing older is easier and safer when you have the support you need to live well at home.
Over the past nine years, the PPUMC Community Concert Series has contributed nearly $60,000 to a variety of community service programs and organizations across the Twin Cities. It’s a perfect combination – enjoying great music and raising money for a worthwhile cause!
A delicious dessert buffet follows the concert, with free parking available on-street and at Pratt Community School. PPUMC is located at 22 Orlin Ave. SE in Minneapolis, at the foot of the historic Prospect Park Water Tower, one block south of University Ave. on Malcolm Ave. and adjacent to the Metro Transit Green Line.
