The last three years have been a whirlwind for us in so many ways. We have lived through and are still living through a global pandemic and its effects, wrestling with systemic racism, and a deep lack of connection and community. We are living in deeply divisive and highly polarized as diversity grows in our communities all around us. It is imperative that, as the church, we increase and strengthen our capacity to love and sit with difference. Pastors serving in cross-racial/cross-cultural/multi-cultural appointments are prophetic agents, now more than ever, in the task of creating beloved community in the face of deep, sharp cultural division. The ministry of pastors serving in cross-racial and cross-cultural appointments is vital.
This year's General Commission on Religion and Race Facing the Future Conference will allow us to gather in person for the first time since 2018. We are looking forward to seeing you and networking with each other. In addition, if you are unable to join in person, you are able to register as a virtual participant which will allow you to have access to all convention sessions and network with those attending both in-person and virtually. We look forward to creating this hybrid conference for you.
Themed Be3: Being, Belonging, Becoming, Facing the Future 2023 will be grounded in biblical and theological frameworks, foster an environment of affirmation, have engaging, dynamic multicultural worship, and feature practical, relevant workshops and tools to further equip attendees in their CRCC ministry journeys.
