Session 1 - Friday, 9-10 am

A Learner’s Guide to Evangelism, Part I: Fred Vanderwerf, District Superintendent, Southern Prairie District
What do I really need to know to be an evangelist? How can I share faith without being a jerk? How will I know if I was successful? These sessions will look at evangelism in a way that merely requires a curious and learning heart. We will look at concepts cross-cultural missionaries employ as a way to inform how we share our faith right next door.

Congregational Breakthrough Prayer: Cynthia Williams, Superintendent, Minnesota River Valley District
What does it mean to reclaim prayer as a central fiber of our life together? This breakout session will focus on the barriers to    being a praying church and a praying congregation and how to overcome them.

Lay Ministry: Rekindle the Flame: Terry Sullivan, Marian Hanson, Susan Cafferty:  Minnesota Annual Conference Lay Ministries Team
You love the church. You want to serve, but how and where? Learn about your spiritual gifts and discover your passions and   options to serve as lay persons in your church

Preaching Refresher:  Video
This session features a video by Dave Ward, Associate Professor of Homiletics and Practical Theology at Indiana Wesleyan
University. In addition to teaching at IWU, Dr. Ward has served as a church pastor, itinerant preacher and preaching coach.

New Engagement … New Leaders … New Impact, Part I: Ben Ingebretson, Dakota-Minnesota Director For New Church Development
Drawing on field-tested examples, this workshop is designed to survey fresh practical ways in which any church can multiply   community engagement, multiply new leaders and multiply their overall impact. Note: This is the first of two sessions; see below for Part II, Start a New Service to Reach New People.

Seeing Your Church Through Fresh Eyes: HUMC Panel
What do visitors experience at your church?  You might be surprised!  Members of Hubbard's Healthy Church Initiative (HCI)  Leadership Team will share some surprising insights they received from having mystery visitors attend their church.

Session 3 - Friday, 1:45-2:45 pm

Community Connections: Dawn Houser, Pastor, Aitkin United Methodist Church
Any faith community feeling that it does not have resources, people or finances to engage in meaningful, well-planned, fun-filled, outward-thinking ministries will want to hear about strategies to overcome this concern. This session will give some examples of how to engage locally and collaborate with different entities in order to grow the Kingdom of God in your own community.

Lay Leadership: Laurie Kantonen, District Superintendent, North Star District
Everyone brings different gifts to the table. In this session, you will learn the importance of getting the right people in the right  places to move your church forward.
