May 4, 1956 was the day the General Conference granted full clergy rights to women. Sixty years later, we continue to celebrate and realize the tremendous impact this historic decision had on the people of The United Methodist Church and the world.
In honor of this milestone, the Minnesota Annual Conference’s Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW) produced a book to hold in trust the stories of the clergywomen in our conference who have served, are serving, or hope to soon serve as full elders or deacons. All clergywomen were invited to submit a story, and it's not too late! Stories are still welcome.
