Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Assistant

White Bear Lake United Methodist Church is seeking to fill the role of children, youth, and family ministry assistant. Responsibilities include helping to facilitate and grow the church’s programming with children, youth, and their families, Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and special events. Qualified individuals will be caring, flexible, organized, creative, willing to work with others, and able to pass a background check.

The mission of WBLUMC is to provide nourishment for the hungers of life. We are a mid-sized Christian community that values spiritual exploration and growth, outreach, and social justice. We believe in teaching our children, youth, and adults to be critical thinkers and adventuresome followers who can ask big questions in church and get honest answers. We believe that Jesus is our primary pathway to God, and we respect other pathways to God. We believe in taking the Bible seriously but not literally.

Duties:

  • Help to facilitate and grow children and youth programs, including Sunday morning education, Wednesday night programming, and special events.
  • Uphold a welcoming, safe environment for children and their families.
  • Support children and youth program volunteers.
  • Adapt to the current and changing environment based on state guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Collaborate with the next generation minister to plan special events and creative methods of engagement, including developing lesson plans.
  • Adhere to SafeChurch protocols.

Compensation:
$18-$20 per hour depending on qualifications
