Brooklyn UMC is seeking an office administrator to provide administrative support to the pastors, staff, and lay leaders, and to coordinate communications with the congregation.

22 hours per week
M-Th 9:00AM-2:00PM
2 hours on Saturday or Sunday
$20-$25/hour, $1 more/hour on the weekend

  • Report to the pastors.
  • Manage office and supervise office volunteers.
    • Assist visitors.
    • Administrative support to pastors and staff where needed.
      • Newsletters
      • Letters
      • Web site
      • Social media
    • Order office supplies.
    • Answer phone calls.
  • Communicate with committee leadership.
    • Schedule meetings.
    • Notify leadership of committee meetings.
  • Maintain relationships with conference offices, post office and the city.
  • Coordinate and manage church calendar.
    • Both physical and shared online calendars.
    • Manage space requests and reservations.
  • Open and unlock the building on office days.
  • Manage filing system.
