Borrowing Baby Bells for Annual Conference

published 5/9/2022

Did you know it is possible to play bells without reading music! A volunteer at Faith Church West St Paul has been diagraming hymns and the congregation using their "baby bells" to make music together since Covid prevented them from singing. (Think of Guitar Hero for church!) This has brought them so much joy, laughter, and connection, they continue to start worship this way each week.

During a joy break at Annual Conference 2022, Marianne Ozanne, pastor at Faith St Paul, will lead those who are interested in a quick session. To do this, she needs more bells than her church has on hand. If your church is willing to bring their baby bells to conference (labeled for easy return), let Marianne know.

*Baby Bells, are small handbells made of metal and painted different bright colors to indicate which note it plays. They are difficult to break and often used for very young musicians, hence the name baby bells.
