Digital Discipleship Leader

Living Spirit UMC in Minneapolis is seeking a part-time digital discipleship leader (10 hours/week) who will provide a pastoral presence to our digital community. If you have a passion for combining your faith and your skill in fostering vibrant online communities, you are encouraged to apply.

The digital discipleship leader provides a pastoral presence to our digital community that grows faith, fosters connections through engagement, and builds a bridge with the in-person community. Success means that members of the online community will build connections with Living Spirit and one another that ensure individual discipleship growth, engagement in ministry, and a consistently enlarging community.

Reports to: Pastor


  • Host live online worship events such that the majority of participants engage in worship through offering prayers, communication via comments, giving to ministries supported by the church, and attendance registration.
  • Curate content in dialogue with staff and leadership for our online community that promotes continuity with the in-person community and encourages discussion and engagement.
  • Develop, produce, or find learning units, keeping with the values and mission of Living Spirit, and make available to our online community for spiritual growth.
  • Deliver a consistent online presence that promotes our mission and vision, giving people a concise picture of our community of faith.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all social media questions, post engagements, etc. to ensure that the online community continues to engage.


  • Strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and other online platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to grow people in their faith
  • A strong, growing faith in Jesus that is expressed in an inclusive manner
  • Ability to meet deliverables in defined timeframes
  • Capacity to engage virtually
  • Availability on Sunday mornings
