Custodian

Minnetonka UMC is seeking a custodian. This position provides for the cleaning, maintenance, and care of the facilities of the church.

Duties:
The person serving in this position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of all areas within the church, its entrances, and approaches to ensure that the facility is kept in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. The specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. On an annual basis, a commitment of approximately 10-15 hours per week;
  2. Ensuring that the church facility is fully prepared for Sunday morning services and activities after any Saturday events that have taken place;
  3. Ensuring that after a weekend’s activities the church facility is returned to a presentable state early in the week;
  4. Ensuring that all scheduled events requiring cleaning preparation or special setup (e.g. meetings, weddings, funerals, and other special church functions) are provided for on a timely basis;
  5. Consulting weekly with the lead pastor and church administrator to discuss any special maintenance requirements;
  6. Providing recommendations for any equipment and supplies that are required to maintain the facility properly and efficiently;
  7. Fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Two years experience as custodian for a facility of the same general size as Minnetonka United Methodist Church.

Compensation:
Compensation is provided on a semi-monthly basis, as a rate consistent with skills and experience.
