Minnesota Council of Churches Life Learners program

By the time they are seniors in high school, students of color in Minnesota lag an average of two years behind their white peers. This poses a problem not just for them but for our state, which relies on an educated workforce even as our younger generations grow more and more diverse. If we want the next generation of leaders to build on the successes we’ve already enjoyed, we need to give them a boost.

Through the Minnesota Council of Churches, the body of Christ in Minnesota is stepping up to oppose the effects of racial injustice by partnering with best-practices tutoring programs and connecting people in congregations to tutoring and mentoring training opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of Minnesota’s children, one kid at a time.

You can listen to God’s call to help a child learn to read, do math, or have a positive role model. Learn more through this video, featuring a special message from Bishop Ough.
