Effective January 1, 2018, the Minnesota Conference MAC health plan—that provides coverage for appointed clergy, lay employees of the conference, local church lay employees that adopted the MAC Plan, and non-Medicare eligible retiree participants—will be replaced with health care coverage on Wespath’s HealthFlex Exchange. The HealthFlex Exchange offers a choice of health plans and add-ons for dental and enhanced vision plans. The provider network will remain the same with the Blue Cross Blue Shield network.
The HealthFlex Exchange will allow participants to choose the plan that best fits their health care needs for the 2018 plan year. It will require each eligible participant to learn about the different options and the enrollment process.
Informational meetings are scheduled around the state. It is very important for everyone eligible for the Minnesota conference health plan, currently MAC Plan, to attend one of the following meetings. You will need the information presented to make the best choice for your 2018 health care plan enrollment.
To help plan for these gatherings, we need to know how many may be attending each session. Please register for the meeting that best fits your location and schedule by clicking here.

We have discussed creating a video of a session to make available following the last session for those that were unable to attend or for review. But we want to be good stewards of conference resources and first learn whether there is interest in a video. If you are interested in a video, please note that in the related question that's part of the registration process.
Who is eligible for HealthFlex Exchange?

  • Clergy appointed half-time or more to a Minnesota local church, district, or conference office (not retired clergy)
  • Lay employees that have average weekly hours of 30 or more of the following:  local church that adopted the conference health plan, conference, district, and Camp Minnesota staff
  • Non-Medicare-eligible retiree participants on the MAC Plan in 2017 who will not be Medicare-eligible until February 2018 or later
  • MAC Plan participants in 2017 not currently in a category above
  • Spouses and dependent children to age 26 of eligible categories above
Who should attend the information session?
All eligible participants. If you are married, your spouse is encouraged to attend, if on the health plan or for decision-making purposes for your family.
Please share this information with eligible lay employees in local churches that adopted the conference health plan; the conference does not have e-mail addresses for these eligible participants.
