A Way Forward Discussion for Clergy
This is the season of Easter and Pentecost. We are called to be bold, courageous, Spirit-led leaders who proclaim new life for all people! We do that in the midst of a rapidly changing world and church. And much like the early church, it is good for us to gather and discern together how the gospel is to be expanded and shared with a seeking world. We may not have all the answers or all agree, but in joining in mutual prayer and listening, we trust that for this season we will find a way.
All clergy are invited to join us as a covenant community of people who are called to lead the church in this time.
In preparation for this gathering, we invite you to make it a daily discipline to read Acts 1:1-14 from The Message, and to journal on these three questions:
- What is it that we are in?
- Who are we in it with? And how are we in it together?
- What is the good that we offer to the world?
We also ask that you also commit yourself to prayer for our gathering and conversation. In particular, may your breakthrough prayer for this season be the Covenant Prayer in a Wesleyan Tradition.
