Start: Internship begins August 29, 2017
End: Internship ends January 12, 2018
The Allina CPE Center and Allina Hospice are pleased to share information about its upcoming Clinical Pastoral Education unit in a hospice setting. In the fall of 2017 they will offer an extended CPE internship, from August 29th- January 12th. This extended program involves a time commitment of approximately 21 hours/week, consisting of a flexible 15-16 hrs/week of spiritual care with hospice patients and grieving families, and 5 hrs/week of supervised group learning.
This internship offers specialized training in clinical pastoral care, emphasizing an experience-reflection model of learning. This invites an effective spiritual care practice that is congruent with who one is as a person and with one's theology.
Allina Hospice is the largest hospice provider in the region, and is renowned for its quality of care, from the admission process through the 13 months of bereavement follow-up. Interns will experience a clinical setting that involves end-of-life pastoral care with patients and families, exposure to the interdisciplinary hospice team model and approach to care, and care and support to families during their bereavement period after the hospice patient’s death.
Driving is part of the work, and mileage will be reimbursed. Allina welcomes applicants now for this fall 2017 unit! Preference given to those eligible for Level II CPE, and/or those with significant pastoral experience, though all applications will be considered.
