Lead in Hilltop’s strategic effort to plant and develop a new campus ministry at MSU that includes:
• Engaging new students
• Shaping and uniting young people to understand, receive, grow in and practice living a Christian faith in the Wesleyan way through worship, discipleship and mission
• Leading in the establishment of a governing board of directors and work alongside that board as leaders committed to campus ministry at MSU
• Leading in the communication of the vision and mission of the MSU campus ministry to the Southern Prairie District and the Minnesota Annual Conference
• Establishing and maintaining the campus ministry as an official organization on campus
• Leading in the promotional and fundraising efforts of the campus ministry, including the recruitment and organization of student leaders and others to help in these efforts

Develop, implement and lead a plan of discipleship for Hilltop youth through:
• Outreach to Hilltop families and families in the community
• Overseeing and conducting weekly youth programs, outreach events, Bible studies and Sunday worship engagement
• Planning and promoting special events, including retreats, conferences and finding opportunities for local mission opportunities along well as leading these mission endeavors
• Creates an inviting and warm environment for both youth and campus ministries
• Encourages the “cross-pollination” of ministries by creatively exploring ways for the youth and campus ministries to interact, build off of one another and make each other more fruitful
• Recruit and develop effective volunteers and interns to assist in these ministries

• Must embrace the doctrine and theology of the Wesleyan tradition
• Support Hilltop’s mission “to celebrate God Upward, grow in Christ Inward, and serve others Outward”
• Seminary training preferred
• A demonstrated heart for youth and college-aged students
• A demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, organizational aptitude in order to plant, develop and implement a campus ministry (including, but not limited to: vision casting, board development, fundraising and recruiting leaders)
• Proficiency in promoting ministries and facilitating community through social media
• Strong relational abilities to work with youth and college-aged students, church leadership and staff
• Proficiency in scripture, worship and small-group leadership relevant to youth and college-aged students

Hilltop UMC (Mankato) is seeking a full-time director to develop its youth ministry as well leading Hilltop in planting a campus ministry at Minnesota State University-Mankato (MSU). This leader will invite real people into real ministry in the real world. Core values of these ministries will include worship as a lifestyle, Christ-centered community, mission that is rooted in scripture, ministry that is grounded in the Wesleyan traditions of grace and holiness and an expectation that students will move on from these ministries as Christians equipped to be leaders in the global church.
