June 2-4, 2010

Minnesota Annual Conference meets every year to worship and fellowship; receive reports, adopt goals and programs, and determine budgets; take stands on key issues; ordain clergy; and receive the bishop's appointment of ordained ministers.

Marcia McFee, UM worship consultant, joined us at annual conference session in 2010. Marcia brings a great passion and creativity to worship, and specializes in interactive, educational, meaningful worship that connects congregations to God. Her workshops are inspiring and practical. Conference session members considered clergy compensation policy changes

2010 Love Offering

  • International recipient (30 percent): Worshiping community in Saint Petersburg, Russia
  • National recipients (30 percent): Native American ministry—Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference Parish Partners and Native American Comprehensive Plan
  • Minnesota recipients (30 percent): New church starts—New Day UMC, Big Lake; Spirit River Community UMC, Isanti; Good Samaritan UMC, Saint Peter
  • Volunteer in Mission scholarships (10 percent)

2010 Love Offering

As of June 14, the Love Offering totaled $82,164.84. Love Offering collection will continue through the end of 2010. Submit donations marked "Love Offering" to your church.

Midwest Mission Distribution Center collected emergency relief kits and supplies

Midwest Distribution Center collected 9,983 pounds of relief supplies from Minnesota United Methodists during annual conference session. This represents a 2,721 increase over 2009's total. For more information on emergency relief kits and current needs, visit www.midwestmissiondc.org.
